One of my favorite types of marketing has to be viral marketing. Basically viral marketing is a way to create a buzz about something you offer and encourage people to pass along your marketing message.

When I first got started in internet marketing I used viral marketing to help build my list and also to make a nice chunk of money quickly and I still use it in my business today. Below you will find a list of several ways that I use viral marketing in my business and you can use too:

1. Ebooks – This is far and away my favorite way to use viral marketing. Basically you create an ebook and inside the ebook you include links to affiliate offers or to your own products. Then you give the ebook away and allows others the right to give it away also.

If you give it to 100 people and they each give it to just 10 people…it is now in the hands of 1,000 people. And if they each give it to 10 people….you get the concept.

I have ebooks that I created 2-3 years ago and I am still getting affiliate sales and new subscribers from them.

The real key to this concept is to get the free ebook in as many peoples hands as possible. If you do not have a big list to initially give it away to then you can try these different ways:

-Participate in free giveaway events and use your ebook as your gift. Each of these events that I do usually results in at least 100-300 downloads of my guide and new subscribers.

-Upload you ebook to free ebook directories.

-Offer to let other marketers add your ebook to their thank you pages as a bonus or as a free gift.

Now the next question will be “What do I write an ebook about”? This part is critical because if you ebook doesn’t appeal to anyone then no one will ever want to download it. Make sure it is about a topic that is relevant and not outdated and make sure it provides great information.

One of the quickest and easiest ways to get started making money online is by sending Pay Per Click (PPC) traffic to affiliate offers. It is great because you can instantly get traffic and you do not have to develope your own product.

But as easy as it sounds, many people struggle with this method and end up losing money in the end. There are several reasons for this and here are a couple tips to help you succeed with PPC to Affiliate offers:

1. Know your costs before you get started. You can do this by doing some quick math on the offer you plan on promoting. Lets say you are using an affiliate offer that pays you $30 per sale. To be safe, let’s say that the offer converts at 1%. So, you will get 1 sale per 100 clicks. Of course in order to make money you will need to pay less than $.30 per click ($30/100=.30).

By knowing this before you get started you can instantly boost your chances of being successful with your PPC campaign. Once you start promoting the offer you may discover that it is actually converting at 2%. You now know that you will get 2 sales per 100 clicks and you need to keep your bid under $.60 per click in order to make money ($60/100=.60).

2. Track your conversions. When you first start your PPC campaign you have to somewhat guess as to which keywords will convert. But after you start getting clicks you need to immediately determine which keywords are bringing you sales and which are not. More importantly, you need to determine which keywords are profitable and which are not…and ditch the non-profitable keywords quick. Many people let bad keywords run for too long in hopes that they will become profitable and it kills their campaigns profitability. Ditch bad keywords as soon as possible.

There are many tools that will help you track conversions but you can do it by yourself. If you are promoting a Clickbank product you can use the TID feature to give each keyword a unique number or just ask the product owner if they will put your Google Adwords tracking code on their thank you page (smart product owners will have no problem doing this for you).

3. Use review pages. Instead of sending your clicks directly to the affiliate offer, use a review page. This is a great way to pre-sell the prospect and will almost always increase your conversions. On your review page you can either compare several products and let the prospect know which is best or you can give a testimonial for the product describing how you used it with great results.
