I am sure you have heard of this new advertising program called Pay Per Play from Net Audio Ads. It plays a 5 second audio commercial to every visitor that visits your site and you get paid. You piss your reader off…but you get paid…like a penny or something. Enticing, I Know! LOL

But here is the kicker, the program pays you a percentage of the income all the people you sign up make. So basically a muli-tier affiliate program. Because of this multi-tier program you now have thousands of people and their mom sending out emails to anyone who owns a website trying to get others to sign up under them.

I know this because I get at least 3 emails everyday from someone I do not know pitching me PPP (but they do it discreetly so I guess it is ok!). Basically this company is allowing their members to spam (it is spam in my book no matter what PPP says) others to get more sign ups.

Here is an example of an email I received today:

My name is (name removed), I just noticed that you’re running google adsense ads in your website, your site appears to be a good fit for my media marketing model, this new affiliate program is just like google adsenses, the only difference is 100% conversion rate!

Are you interested in finding out more details? Please let me know before I could send you the info by e-mail. Thank you for your time.

Let me guess…you are going to pitch me PPP. Not interested.

To which he replied back (which now constitutes SPAM):

Are you sure you understand what PPP program is before you said not interested? If someone visits your site then leave without clicking on your adsenses, you get nothing, correct?? PPP program can get you paid each time your site is viewed, there more than 6 million website owners already signed up PPP program, do you think all 6 million webmasters are that dumb??

If you take a look at PPP program, what do you lose?? let you decide, contact me if you change your mind.

Did you know that the average payout for PPP is less than 1 cent per play, which equates to a $10 CPM! I have sites that average over $100 CPM for AdSense and I have no site that is under $10 CPM! Not to mention that the only reason that 6 million webmasters have signed up (according to you) is because PPP is a big pyramid scheme with people like yourself spamming website owners.

So can “all 6 million webmasters are that dumb”…I guess they are or they just don’t know the facts about PPP or they don’t know how to effectively use AdSense and affiliate programs…neither of which irritate your visitors.

Sorry about that rant here but I am just sick and tired of getting emails about this PPP program, you are not the first to contact me about this and I am sure you will not be the last. I would just appreciate if you guys actually understood what you are promoting, and if you did you would realize it pays out barely anything.

I am sure that PPP supporters will say that PPP can be used with AdSense so you get the best of both worlds. Not so fast. I can almost guarantee that PPP will dramatically reduce your AdSense click through rate because it will annoy people so bad and the money you make from PPP will not make up the difference in lost AdSense revenue. NetAudioAds needs to get this under control because people getting unsolicited emails from all these people is completely trashing their reputation.
