I am sure that you have heard many times how powerful it can be to
use video on your websites.
Well, I decided to finally test it out and here are my results.
I have a site that sells an ebook with accompanying video
tutorials in the music niche. I really don’t do a whole lot with
it and it shows because my sales conversion rate was at .15%.
I know, that sucks. On the web a good rate is around 1-3%!
So I decided to make a short video with clips from some of the
video tutorials and pointed out some of the benefits of the product.
It was nothing special and I made it with Camtasia screen recorder
and Powerpoint with background music. It took me about 2 hours to
make and is about 2 1/2 minutes long. Real simple with no bells or
whistles.
I then uploaded it to YouTube and Google Video and placed it on my
salespage, above the fold, using the template that John Reese gives
in his “Rebirth of Internet Marketing” guide.
So, what are the results?
To date is has received 75 views on YouTube and 45 on Google Video
in about a week. And the conversion for my site has risen to
around 1.5%! (very respectable, especially compared to what it was)
So I guess that reaffirms the power of video!
I am going to throw together a quick tutorial on how to make a
video for everyone but all you really need to get started is the
trial version of Camtasia Studio and Powerpoint.
Go give it a try and let me know what your results are.
